Massachusetts Fallen Heroes was established in 2010 by Boston firefighters, local veterans, Gold Star Families, police officers and other patriotic citizens. We ourselves are combat veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan and we are committed to memorializing our fellow service members who did not return home to their families. Our work began with a goal to construct a public memorial to honor all Massachusetts Fallen Heroes who gave their lives fighting the global war on terrorism since September 11, 2001. On May 27, 2016 the memorial was dedicated in front of Gold Star Family members, veterans, all branches of the military, politicians and the general public. The memorial stands in Boston’s Seaport Common and serves as a place for reflection and remembrance of those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom. The work we do to Honor the Fallen was our beginning and we have since evolved from a charity, strictly geared towards building a tribute honoring Fallen Heroes, into a multifaceted organization.
Our mission is to strengthen the connections between Massachusetts Veterans and Gold Star Families. Massachusetts Fallen Heroes is actively working on new programs for our Gold Star Families, new partnerships, and our Education Program which launched in 2016. Massachusetts Veteran’s Edge will focus on empowering veterans and transitioning military personnel on active duty.
